Compassion’s Foundation

 

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:11


PURPOSE
To give people the guidance and tools they need to improve their lives.
To minister to people by showing compassion and encouraging a partnership with a local church family.

VISION
A community that provides resources to enable people to develop their maximum potential emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, and socially. We envision a support system to help people re-establish their lives.

FUTURE PLANS INCLUDE:

  • Health Clinic
    To provide health and dental services.
  • Pharmacy
    To provide medicinal assistance.
  • Life Skills Job Training
    To prep individuals in the area of applying, interviewing, and maintaining a job.
  • Certified Nurse Assitant (CNA) Program
    To train individuals with the skill as a Certified Nurse Assistant to obtain a job.

Under the Compassion’s Foundation are several ministries:

  • Angel Food Ministry
  • MISSION
    To serve as a means to help people in our community find affordable food.

    OBJECTIVE
    To get menus out into the community in order to reach a targeted population.

  • Celebrate Recovery
  • MISSION
    To offer a recovery program to people involved in alcohol and drug activities.

    OBJECTIVE
    To assist in detoxification and treatment. To help women transition back into normal society and learn how to take responsibility for themselves in a chemical-free environment.

    Classes meet twice a week on:
    Tuesdays 7:00 pm
    Fridays 7:00 pm
    All classes are held at the Compassion’s Foundation building.

  • Clothes Closet
  • MISSION
    To provide clothing to those in need.

    OBJECTIVE
    To collect new and nice used clothing for all ages, from infants to adults.

  • Living Water
  • MISSION
    To empower women and children to live free of fear from harm within their families.

    OBJECTIVE
    To provide shelter and advocacy for battered women and their children to assure a safe and peaceful home.

  • Soul Food Pantry
    • Harvest Distribution Center in Texarkana
    • the Rice Depot
    • local donations from individuals
  • MISSION
    To provide free nutritious food to families in need.

    OBJECTIVE
    To establish a distribution day so that we can better serve the community.

    Our food pantry receives food from:

Compassion’s Foundation is a faith-based program.

No charges are made for our services and programs.

Compassion’s Foundation operates on donations only.  Contributions are tax deductible.
